Why Jesu?

Nobody called me Jesus 2,000 years ago. My full name was and is Yehosua. Yeshua is the short version and Yeshu my nickname. With the Old Hebrew root Yod Shin Wav, it translates to “Lord is Salvation”. In former Koine Greek language, it was spelled Iesous - You remember INRI on the cross. Much later, it was later transliterated to Jesus in context of the New Testament and its translations with the letter “J” appearing in the alphabet in The Middle Ages. How you greet me is secondary provided the root meaning - "Lord is Salvation" - is maintained. Amen.
